Who is Tawanda Marere?

Tawanda Nyasha Marere is a Model, Designer, Actor, Musician and the Founder of Mudhuri Fashion Week. As a model he is currently on Econet , Delta billboards and Newspaper ads. He has participated in a number of fashion shows including Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2014 and Soweto Fashion week Spring Summer collection 2015. Tawanda is an award winner at the Zimbabwe Models Awards 2015 for the Most Talented Model. As a designer Tawanda runs a clothing brand called Mudhuri The Wall which currently specializes in casual ready to wear Tee shirts, sweaters, hoodies jeans and shorts. He showcased twice his first collection called the Ripped collection at the Madam Cee Fashion Show and the Rockland Winter Fashion show. As an Actor he has worked with Invision Studios and has featured in about eight short films. He was a lead in three of them namely Introspect, The breakdown and Lungs. The short films are currently being aired on ZTV. As a Musician, Tawanda is working on his eight track debut album. His music is inspired from day to day life experiences and his music has a meaning and a message. Some of the song titles are, Let us unite, Stop abuse, I'm a Zimbabwean, Success, Ka life and Mari yangu.

Besides being in the fashion, modelling and arts industry Tawanda is also an Entrepreneur being the founder and CEO of Marere & Marere PBC which trades as Mudhuri Construction and Mudhuri Fashions. Tawanda Marere created Harare Mudhuri Fashion Week (HMFW) after he noticed that in Zimbabwe there is only one big event which is Zimbabwe fashion week. Models and Designers have to wait all year for that one show. Tawanda realised that this is not good for the industry and more shows and fashion events are needed that can meet International standards. After Harare, Tawanda plans to do Bulawayo, Mutare and Gweru Fashion Weeks so that more fashion platforms can be created around Zimbabwe.
