This week on #Profiles we look at CAL_VIN, a Rap artist residing in Luveve Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Born on the 15th of December 1985 Cal was Introduced to rap in 1996 and got an opportunity to record in 2003. He started making his own beats in 2004 because he wanted to have full control of his career and creativity.
The rapper has a hot single dominating the air waves called #Zkhuphan taken from a 2014 project #DatLuveveBoyEP.The song earned a no.1 spot on power fm's School Of Hip Hop Chart. Cal Vin featured top rap artist Cassper Nyovest on the remix which became the most downloaded song in Zimbabwe having over 25k downloads in 24hrs & over 48k in a week.
Cal_Vin releases a freestyle every friday for his fans (Vin Nation) an online project called Free Bars Fridays which has seen him not only getting commercial level respect, but also earning him street cred and he intends to keep going until he has established himself properly & respectfully in the game. Cal_Vin has four Official Albums to his name Perfect Balance, Dat Luveve Boy EP, Askies EP and Year Of The Vin.
